by DARYL K FOR STEVEN ALAN

Daryl Kerrigan is an Irish born fashion designer based in New York who pioneered the downtown aesthetic garnering her the title, Indie queen of downtown cool. It was 1986 when she moved to NYC, taking jobs sorting second hand clothes for thrift-shop dealers and working in wardrobe for independent films before launching her line and alter ego, Daryl K. In 1991, she opened her first store on 6th street in the East Village which quickly became a top draw for customers like Kim Gordon and Camilla Nickerson. Her influence spread like wildfire after she designed the perfect pair of low rise jeans resulting in a now classic rock 'n' roll look. The collaboration DK4SA, is a capsule collection of "new classics." Silhouettes which have been mainstays in Daryl's designs are updated in fresh prints and fabrics in collaboration with Steven Alan for a unique fusion of urban style.
