Two girls walk into a party wearing the same outfit: striped men’s t-shirts from the hard-to-find label Robert P. Miller. For some girls, the doubling-up might’ve led to a scuffle, but Jennifer Murray and Nancy Gibson sensed an opportunity. They contacted the Miller factory’s sixth generation family owners and with a little convincing, they’d sold them on the idea: a sister label to Robert P. Miller, christened Edith A. Miller, after a popular girl’s name of the era. Like the men’s line, Edith is 100 percent American-made and uses the same soft military thermal knit, but in a lighter hand. The silhouettes are updated fits for ladies and are offered in a range of tees, dresses, and swimwear.
