Cacharel was founded in Nimes, France by Jean Bousquet in 1962. The name Cacharel was inspired by a type small bird from Camarque in southern France. The label has become synonymous with expertly crafted womenswear in playful yet classic feminine silhouettes using rich fabrics and vibrant prints and color. The latest talents to head the legendary label are Dawei Sun and Ling Liu. In addition to having worked under Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga, and Stefano Pilati at YSL, they were also the recipients of the Jury Prize at the 2011 Elle France New Talent Fashion Awards.
